What is The Common Carry?
The Common Carry is a curated retailer rooted in everyday carry (EDC) — the idea that the tools and items we carry every day should make life more organized, prepared, and efficient.
From bags and organizers to tools, lighting, tech accessories, and other practical gear, our goal is to make genuinely useful products easier to discover without the noise, hype, or unnecessary complexity that often surrounds “gear culture.”
Beyond products, we want to build a space centered around practical knowledge, shared experience, and everyday problem-solving for people who value usefulness, organization, and preparedness in daily life.
What is Everyday Carry (EDC)?
Everyday Carry (EDC) is the practice of carrying useful items that help with daily tasks, organization, convenience, and preparedness.
For some people that may mean a backpack, flashlight, charger, notebook, multitool, or pocket organizer. For others, it may simply mean carrying the essentials they rely on every day.
At its core, EDC is less about collecting gear and more about reducing friction in everyday life with practical, reliable tools and systems that work for you.

The Common Carry focuses on practical everyday utility products centered around everyday carry (EDC), organization, preparedness, and convenience.

Why start The Common Carry?
As a former boy scout, Jacob, the founder of The Common Carry, took the boy scout motto of "be prepared" to heart. Being prepared refers to a constant state of readiness in both mind and body to do your duty to handle any kind of unexpected situation that may come up.
Jacob strives to help other people do the same, and thus The Common Carry was born out of a joy for learning about what makes the items people carry on their person fit their specific need.
